I don't care really much if it's not given, but I really appreciate it if someone give a notice to the one he gets a +fav from, so I really appreciate a thanks ... therefore I also give one ... and we are still humans and not machines, so a thanks is cool
I still say thanks for watching, although it has gotten a little out of hand lately. I have a hard time catching up which is a good thing, but it might be too ambitious to try and do that forever. Answering comments is more important, I think.
Sometimes I think it's too much when I've been watching someone's work for months and been faving their stuff once in a while, that they still feel the need to say thanks for ever fav I give... Might be a little over the top, but if they wanna do it that way, it's fine by me. Not saying thanks is fine, too. Although sometimes saying thanks and leaving a few nice words might lead to a nice conversation which might lead to making a great new contact

It won't bother me either way, but if you take the time to visit my page then you might as well just browse through I have there - whether you fav or comment any of it is irrelevant, really (still, if you do feel like doing any of those don't hold back xD ahah)

I'm somewhat new to dA, but getting mindless thank you's don't really do anything for me. I know they are mindless because right above my profile comment section, I have a section that asks not to be "thanked" for the fave, etc. I'd much rather they spend the time looking at/commenting/critiquing a photo of mine.
I usually take the time to check for a deviant's location (just to see if I know how to say "thanks" in their language) and if they have such a "no thank you messages" note somewhere. But I'm pretty sure I'm guilty of missing a few of these, especially if they are hidden between hundreds of stamps and a seizure-inducing webcam image
